101 YEAR OLD MEXICANA
FINALLY GETS HER PAPERS !!!!
La Estimada Doña , Eulalia Garcia Maturey
at 101 years old has GOT to be the oldest person
ever to get citizenship AND even if she isn't her story
is incredible . La Señora Garcia came to the United States
on October 12 , 1909 in her mothers' arms at a time when there
was no Border Patrol or really a defined border . Having been born
less than a year before on , February 12 , 1909 her mom crossed the border
into Brownsville , Texas and they settled down . For years as Eulalia matured
into a woman , she never gave a thought or consideration to her status and when
or if anyone asked , she simply replied , " I am American" . Enter 1941 and the war so
America wants to know who exists between their borders and if they are physically able to
serve . Senora Garcia - Maturey is given , in April of 1941 , a " Certificate of Lawful Entry " Card which she holds onto for more than 60 years . Fade to the present and Eulalia is finding it harder and harder to cross the border into Mexico and visit relatives so she feels she MUST get a passport and this is when she finds out she is illegal and the government has no paper on her EXCEPT she STILL has the Lawful Entry card given to her all those years ago . The idiots at Immigration do something nice for once and give an old lady something she deserved to have many many years ago ......... By The Way doesn't the fact that she was living here before most of us were born make her more of an American than most people ?????
