MEET 2011 MILKEN FOUNDATION AWARD
WINNER , ANDREA MORALES McKENNA !!!!!

Every year the Milken Family Foundation gives out awards to the best Teachers in the United States and this year that award went to  Andrea Morales McKenna of Springdale , Arkansas . The Governor of Arkansas , Mike Beebe , as well as the Commissioner of Education , Tom Kimbrell , came out to La Señora McKennas' class to surprise her with the announcement and award , and to say that she was shocked is an understatement .  How in the world do Latinos get to Arkansas , well one way is to have Migrant worker parents who
hustle for the money .
 
  We do NOT mean anything stupid , it's just that this family went where they had to in order to feed the family . Andrea did not speak English when she first came to Arkansas and that is one of the things that makes her so special according to the Principal of the school , Sara Ford , "she is at the top of her game , she understands our students because she's been there ." " I just want to be a role model to other latinas and other latino students that with hard work, dreams come true" is what Andrea said when finding out that she had in fact won the $25,000.00 dollar prize .
