Calle 13 SWEEPS the Latin Grammy's winning ALL five nominated categories!!
If this is the future of Latin Music, then WE'RE ALL FOR IT!!
The 10th annual Latin Grammy's were held in Las Vegas over the weekend and it couldn't have been a more star packed affair, with musicians from all over Latin America coming together to honor their own (we like that). One group in particular stood out and that was Calle 13 who won ALL FIVE of the categories they were nominated for. Formed by stepbrothers Renee Joglar and Eduardo Cabra in San Juan Puerto Rico, Calle 13 already had a string of Latin Grammy's under it's belt as well a "non-Latin" Grammy (from the Music Academy folks, but we'll take it!) . It's tough to classify this group's sound because anyone who listens can tell you it's definitley a blend of Hip Hop, Reggeaton, Jazz, Bossa Nova, Cumbia and everything else but maybe country (no offense to our COUNTRY LATINS). Anyway, whatever you wanna call it, CALLE 13 is making a strong impact on the music industry and we're glad about that....only so much HANNAH MONTANA we can take!
