RICHEST MEN , BUILDS SUPERPORT
One of Brasil's wealthiest men , Eike Batista , has become so fed up with the way the ports work in Brasil that he decided to build his own . Called the Acu Superport , it will have a 4 lane highway and conveyor belt among other things . The 2.7 Billion dollar project will house a port and industrial complex that will end up being bigger than Manhattan . According to Batista , " This is a story about connecting Brasil to the world. Because for the last 20 years, why haven't German companies or European or American companies come to Brasil?" he asks. "Very bad logistics." All this came about when Eike had trouble getting his Iron Ore onto waiting ships bound for China and now Wuhan Iron and Steel , a Chinese Company , has vowed a 5 Billion dollar investment into a factory in Brasil since this project has started .
