YANKEE GREAT , JORGE POSADA ,
RETIRES AFTER 17 YEARS !!!!!!!!!!!

     Since 1995 , Yankee catcher , Jorge Posada , has been a mainstay and firebrand for the Mighty New York Yankees , sometimes leading with his bat and sometimes leading with fiery talk . One thing is for sure , Yankee fans from the Bronx AND the world over will miss his presence in the clubhouse .
Jorge's brand of play was always more along the lines of Yogi Berra and Thurman Munson than the players who are considered good today and for that reason , he will be missed . Five times an all star and 4 titles in 5 years will be his legacy as a Yankee and it will only add to the mystique . If you need perspective , this is the guy who started on a team that already had Mariano Rivera , Derek Jeter , Alex Rodriguez and Bernie Williams . Gracias por todo Jorge , we are honored to have watched you play as a Yankee and we appreciate all you did to honor New York , The Yankees AND Puerto Ricans everywhere !!!!!
