Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado goes back to her Latin roots with "Mi Plan"
and it looks like the first single is a step in the right direction

You know what's good about success? It gives you the confidence to try new things and go places you have't been before.  Well, that's what Nelly is doing with her first Spanish language album "Mi Plan".  The first single "Bajo Otra Luz" is a delightfully light and fresh collaboration between Nelly, Julieta Venegas and La Mala Rodriguez. These three really blended well together in a "soul sister anthem" kind of way,  which makes us wonder how long they've been hanging together because they really seem to "get" one another. The hook is especially addictive and when La Mala raps, well, it closes the deal (we didn't know La Mala rapped, but then, her name is La Mala so...) Now we haven't heard the rest of the album so you'll have to check it out for yourself. Whether this is Nelly's breakthrough Spanish album is anybody's guess, but at least she has the confidence to try and that's a success in itself.
