Democratic Senator Robert Menendez has written a new book heralding Latino success and accomplishment called "Growing American Roots". It tells the story of the American Latino and points to emerging Latino wealth as a source for continued economic development and prosperity. 



Senator Bob Menendez is the son of Cuban immigrant parents who fled Cuba in the 50's during the Batista Regime. After receiving his law degree from Rutgers Law in Newark, he embarked on a career as an attorney before turning to politics, first as the mayor of Union City , New Jersey and then as the state's first Hispanic Senator. His book, "Growing American Roots" is a look through the eyes of a first generation American Latino and his take on the history, the future and the impact he says Latinos can have in their new home .
