IMMIGRANT ICON , STATUE OF LIBERTY ,
TURNED 125 YEARS OLD YESTERDAY !!!!!






        125 Immigrants were sworn in yesterday as new Americans at the base of one of the most Beautiful women in the world . The Staue of Liberty , one of the most recognizable Landmarks in the world , turned 125 years old yesterday and TheBochinche was in New York to celebrate the event . Did you know that the Lady was given to us by the French who were eager to make friends with those in, what was considered , the New World. Many many Latinos have passed in front of her on their way to the New World and all that
awaited them .

Once you got to America , the first thing you did was to step off the boat and register your name with the officials that awaited your entrance , there was no wall , no Minute men waiting with guns , no I.C.E. officials and definitely NO Immigration Laws .......What has happened since that time, you ask , we will leave that for another day .  We will tell you that Lady Liberty was so large that she had to be shipped in pieces and when she got here , officials were not ready for all her grandiosity  , so they had to then build a pedestal for her .

Since there was not enough money to just do it like Nike , they ( Government Officials ) had to go
around the New Country looking for donations and guess who they hit up first .............. THAT'S RIGHT
all the new immigrants but to be completely fair , many Many Americans donated to the Pedestal fund and that's how we have her in the Hudson looking Beautiful and Strong , today . Americans everywhere from every corner should be proud that we have a history of welcoming Immigrants with open arms EVEN if we make mistakes alot . Nobody is perfect but we work toward better solutions and we aspire to be better .
